The management of the PA
CR accepted a decision to form a new publication platform in the sphere
of
security theory and practice in 1995. This decision followed from the
necessity
to present the results of specialist and scientific work carried out at
the PA
CR and mediate it to the employees of the department of the Ministry of
the
Interior and the Police of the CR. The periodically issued Collection
of Papers "Security Theory & Practice" became this platform. On
November 14th, 1995 the Czech National Centre of the State
Technical Library of the CR ISSN gave ISSN this periodical. In 1995 and 1996
one publication was issued annually, since 1997 there have been two
publications annually. The technical and the
content level of the periodical have been steadily increasing, especially in
connection with the development of the scientific research activity at the PA
CR. Since 2000 there is a special edition of this periodical dedicated to
the results of research activity carried out in the framework of the Research
intention of the PA CR, approved by the Government Council for Research and
Development. In 2005 the frequency of the periodical increased to 4 issues
annually.
There was basic innovation
of this periodical in 2006 concerning its formal and content side. The
periodical got a new graphic layout of the cover and inner form. From the title
the subtitle Collection of Papers of the PA CR is left out, which in connection
with the periodicity and content turned out to be misleading. The content of
the periodical is subdivided into theoretical studies, specialist articles,
discussion contributions, brief and cogent information from congresses and
conferences, reviews of new books and different organization news. The
intention of the body of editors is to steadily increase the standard of the
periodical and to form a prestigious specialist reviewed periodical. According
to these changes the periodical was given a new ISSN number. From the original
ISSN 1211-2461 it is changed to the ISSN 1801-8211 with the first issue in 2006.
